About the Role

Introduction

The Mechanical Construction Manager oversees planning, coordination, and delivery of high‑purity and process piping systems that support technology facilities such as data centers, semiconductor fab facilities, advanced manufacturing, and cleanrooms. This role manages the full lifecycle of the piping scope—from pre‑construction through commissioning and turnover—ensuring systems are installed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with stringent quality and cleanliness requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in stainless steel and high‑purity piping installation, including cleanroom work practices, orbital/TIG welding, and mechanical completion of complex piping system
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a strong understanding of working within a computer network.
  • Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, and design drawings.
  • Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with Construction Specifications Institutes (CSI) MasterFormat.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and field practices.
  • Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pre‑construction for process and mechanical systems, including scope definition, constructability review, budgeting, and schedule development.
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules and look‑ahead plans for all piping work, aligning manpower, materials, tools, and cleanroom access or shutdown windows.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams to review P&IDs, isometrics, BIM models, and tool/MEP layouts, resolving RFIs and field clashes early.
  • Oversee procurement and logistics for piping materials, valves, fittings, specialty alloys, and prefabricated assemblies, working closely with vendors and internal procurement.
  • Manage trade partners and internal crews, clearly defining scopes, interfaces, and responsibilities for work in cleanrooms, data halls, and utility areas.
  • Plan and oversee inspections and testing (leak tests, hydrostatic, pneumatic, NDT, flushing, passivation, and system qualification) and ensure complete documentation and turnover packages.
  • Monitor project performance, including cost, change orders, productivity, and key metrics, implementing corrective actions to protect budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate activities with other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and critical equipment installations to support mission‑critical uptime and commissioning milestones.
  • Champion safety and contamination‑control practices appropriate to technology environments (cleanroom protocols, chemical and gas safety, lockout/tagout) in partnership with site EHS teams.
  • Provide regular status reports and risk/mitigation updates to internal leadership and clients, supporting readiness for commissioning and operations handover.

Pay and Benefits

Base Salary $150,000-$200,000
