Data Centre HVAP Technician The Data Centre HVAP Technician will oversee and supervise both planned and reactive maintenance activities, working closely with the Building Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Shift Leader. This role is responsible for ensuring all maintenance works are carried out in full compliance with site policies, procedures, and relevant health and safety legislation.\n \nAs an Authorised Person (HVAP), the post holder will ensure all safety documentation and permits are completed to the highest standard, in line with company policies and safe systems of work. The role reports directly to the Engineering Shift Leader and supports shift teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and within agreed timescales.\n\n This is a continental shift role suited to an experienced HVAP professional.\n\n Role Summary\nCarry out routine maintenance on building plant, equipment, and systems, ensuring all works meet or exceed agreed service level agreements (SLAs).\nRespond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and carry out emergency repairs as required.\nManage the Permit to Work system, ensuring appropriate controls and authorisations are in place.\nProduce and utilise switching schedules, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) in line with company policies and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).\nMaintain evaporative cooling and domestic water systems in compliance with L8 regulations.\nEnsure availability of appropriate spare parts for maintenance activities.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records via REALM task sheets.\nPrepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments to support safe working practices.\nSupervise engineering subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and site processes.\nDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with CBRE and client representatives.\nEnsure a safe working environment in line with company and client health and safety policies.\nRepresent CBRE professionally at all times, delivering high standards of customer service.\nMaintain and develop professional and technical competence through continuous personal development.\nEnsure work packs contain all required documentation and review subcontractor RAMS.\nEnsure all training and personal development requirements remain current.\nSupport incident management during unplanned events or site faults.\nUndertake all HVAP responsibilities applicable to the role.Experience & Skillset Required Essential:\n\nHV Authorisation\nCurrent Wiring Regulations certification\nLevel 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline\nEmergency First Aid at Work qualification\nProven experience managing incidents or faults in a business-critical environment\nDemonstrable experience in a similar role within a comparable organisation\nStrong understanding of health and safety legislation related to maintenance activities\nExcellent verbal communication skills\nNumerate and literate with strong attention to detail\nHigh standards of diligence and commitment to safe working practices\nSelf-motivated with strong personal integrity\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team\nWell organised and capable of working under pressure\nProfessional, courteous, and presentable, with regular client interaction\nAbility to ascend and descend vertical access equipment\nFlexible approach to working hoursDesirable:\n\nManual Handling Training\nPASMA and IPAF certifications\nKnowledge of multiple interlinked systems (Fire, PMS, BMS)\nStrong sense of ownership and accountability
