Primary Activities/Duties

  • Lead product design efforts including specifications, material selection, CAD modeling, and detailed drawings.
  • Develop enclosure and accessory packaging designs.
  • Create documentation and instructions for field installation and modification.
  • Conduct and interpret developmental tests to validate design performance.
  • Ensure product compliance with agency standards (UL, CSA, etc.).
  • Provide engineering support for product builds, prototypes, cost analysis, and technical project management.
  • Deliver continuous improvement feedback to enhance product quality and performance.
  • Create and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for initial release and revisions.
  • Maintain Material Master data and Bills of Materials.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to communicate new product development and ongoing engineering activities.
  • Report regularly to leadership on project status including schedule, budget, and quality metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
  • Willingness to wear required PPE and follow safety protocols in designated areas.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • 3–5 years of product design experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD tools (Creo or Inventor); FEA experience desirable.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Knowledge of metal manufacturing processes including forming, cutting, welding, machining, casting, and coatings.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (UL, CE, NEC, VDE) and performance measures (NEMA, IEC, ANSI).
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with enclosure fabrication and assembly methods .
