Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify mechanical systems for generator and power infrastructure projects, including fuel, cooling, exhaust, and ventilation systems.
- Support project delivery from initial handover through to installation and commissioning.
- Provide technical support to Engineering, Projects, and Sales teams during pre-contract and delivery phases.
- Produce mechanical design documentation, including drawings, calculations, specifications, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure equipment compliance with project requirements.
- Review technical submissions and ensure alignment with industry standards and client specifications.
- Attend site visits, factory acceptance tests, and commissioning activities as required (UK and/or Europe).
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and documentation.
- Support preparation of Operations & Maintenance manuals and as-built documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer role ideally on data centre projects.
- Experience working on generator systems, engines, HVAC, fuel systems, or power infrastructure projects (desirable).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other mechanical design software.
- Understanding of relevant UK and international mechanical standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
