About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for managing new product development, engineering changes, and qualification processes for data center products. This role oversees bills of materials and labor routings for new products and product modifications through prototyping and manufacturing process performance analysis.

The Mechanical Engineer develops quotations for non-standard and new product pricing requests and maintains engineering drawings, specifications, and quality procedure documentation to support product development and manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop manufacturing processes for new product families in collaboration with production, purchasing, quality, and operations teams.
  • Proactively anticipate potential design changes and incorporate futureproofing where possible.
  • Create quotes for new designs and maintain design history throughout the quoting process.
  • Maintain and update engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Administer processes for new part number creation, bill of material (BOM) updates, labor routing changes, and new product quote requests (excluding MI% data).
  • Interpret project requirements from customers, project managers, or architectural drawings, and communicate feasibility, lead times, and potential challenges.
  • Create project submittal documentation for approval of project design and specifications.
  • Support the manufacturing team with new process development and implementation.
  • Maintain awareness of individual contributions to quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.

Additional Expectations

  • Comply with all company policies, including the Code of Conduct and Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal product compliance requirements.
  • Support all activities required to meet Compliance Management System goals.
  • Raise any compliance-related concerns to a supervisor, manager, Leadership Team member, or through the confidential whistleblower service.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or another STEM field required.
  • Up to five years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment .
  • Proficiency in on shape and 2D/3D CAD systems required.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is a plus, particularly BIM (Building Information Modeling).
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing standards, new product development, and manufacturing processes and controls .
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
