Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a major construction programme in South London. This long-term contract opportunity involves overseeing mechanical installation activities across infrastructure, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle
Review mechanical drawings, technical specifications and installation requirements
Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works meet programme requirements
Support quality assurance processes, inspections and commissioning activities
Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to senior project stakeholders
Coordinate with CSA, electrical and commissioning teams to support efficient project delivery
Identify and resolve technical issues on site
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements

Job Requirements:

Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant mechanical trade background
Experience delivering mechanical packages on data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical or large-scale industrial projects
Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, pipework and associated mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Experience working within fast-paced construction environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and installation practices
Data centre project experience is highly desirable
