Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) - Location: Taunton, Somerset - £36,000 – £38,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Call-out: 1 in 4 rota (£154 standby allowance)

We’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join a dedicated on-site facilities team in Taunton. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining critical building services and ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer from a critical or high-reliability background to take ownership of a key site and work as part of a skilled, supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all mechanical and building services systems.

* Diagnose and repair faults on HVAC systems, pumps, valves, AHUs, and general building plant.

* Support electrical maintenance activities and assist colleagues with multi-discipline tasks.

* Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and site procedures.

* Participate in a 1-in-4 call-out rota, providing out-of-hours support when required.

* Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.

Skills & Experience

* Time-served mechanical engineer (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

* Experience in a critical environment such as data centres, hospitals, or manufacturing.

* Strong understanding of HVAC, chilled water, and pressurised systems.

* Basic electrical knowledge and willingness to work across disciplines.

* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

* A proactive, reliable approach with a strong focus on quality and safety.
