The Role

We are seeking a proactive Mechanical Project Engineer to support and enhance the technical delivery of projects. This role is a mixture of office and site-based work, reporting to either a Project Manager or Contracts Manager, depending on specific project needs.

The successful candidate will become a technical authority on assigned projects, ensuring compliance and smooth technical workflow throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Documentation: Become thoroughly familiar with all project specifications, design documents, and details from the outset.

Technical Submittals: Collate and meticulously manage the process for all technical submittals as directed by the Contracts/Project Manager.

Drawing Management: Ensure that site teams are consistently working from the latest revisions of technical drawings.

As-Built Information: Mark up 'redline' drawings with accurate as-built information and issue them back to the design team promptly.

Information Requests (RFIs): Take responsibility for raising technical Requests For Information (RFIs) and maintaining the RFI schedule/log to ensure it is always up to date.

Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and verify the technical compliance and quality of work carried out by subcontractors.

Variations and Procurement: Assist the Quantity Surveying (QS) team with variation management, providing necessary technical backup for all changes and procurement decisions.

Reporting: Collaborate closely with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Design team, and QS team to contribute accurate updates to the project progress report.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure stringent compliance with all relevant Building Regulations, industry Standards, and Health & Safety Regulations on site.

EHSQ Adherence: Fully comply with all internal Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) policies and procedures.

Handover: Compile the comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, and coordinate the commissioning and final handover processes.

Document Control: Maintain the company's dedicated document management system for all project files.

Candidate Specification

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in a Mechanical discipline, or a relevant Trade background combined with equivalent experience.

Skills & Experience

A comprehensive understanding of the tendering and procurement process is required.

Working proficiency in standard software, including MS Project and the MS Office Suite.

A willingness to learn quickly and adapt effectively to the various technical and administrative elements of a project.
