Mechanical & Process Piping Quality Assurance (QA)

Phoenix, AZ

Join a leading team supporting the construction of one of the nation's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Process Piping QA Professional to support quality assurance activities on a large-scale semiconductor construction project. This role is responsible for ensuring mechanical and process piping installations meet project specifications, applicable codes, and the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or other mission-critical construction projects and possesses a strong understanding of process piping systems, mechanical installations, welding, and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections of mechanical and process piping installations throughout all phases of construction.
  • Verify installations comply with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.
  • Review P&IDs, piping isometrics, fabrication drawings, and construction documents.
  • Witness and document hydrostatic, pneumatic, pressure, and leak testing activities.
  • Inspect piping supports, hangers, valves, specialty piping systems, and mechanical equipment connections.
  • Verify material traceability, weld documentation, MTRs, and turnover packages.
  • Monitor contractor workmanship and identify quality deficiencies requiring corrective action.
  • Generate punch lists and verify completion of corrective actions.
  • Participate in quality walkdowns, mechanical completion, and system turnover activities.
  • Coordinate with construction management, engineering, commissioning, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain detailed inspection reports, NCRs, QA documentation, and project records.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the project.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Mechanical or Process Piping Quality Assurance experience.
  • Previous semiconductor construction experience required.
  • Experience supporting process piping systems and mechanical utility installations.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Process piping installation
    • Mechanical systems
    • Pipe supports and hangers
    • Welding inspection
    • Pressure testing
    • Quality assurance documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • P&IDs
    • Isometric drawings
    • Mechanical construction drawings
    • Specifications
  • Experience with NCRs, punch lists, turnover documentation, and quality tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large semiconductor, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing projects.
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 Process Piping requirements.
  • CWI, API, ASNT, or other quality-related certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working for an EPC, EPCM, General Contractor, or Mechanical Contractor on large industrial construction projects.
