With a strong project pipeline within the data centre sector, this role offers the chance to lead from the front as the Technical Director (Mechanical), shaping design standards, mentoring a high-performing team, and influencing project delivery at the highest level.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead the mechanical engineering discipline on major projects, providing technical direction and ensuring best-in-class design delivery.\nOversee the development of mechanical systems designs, including cooling, ventilation, and HVAC solutions for large-scale data centre environments.\nWork closely with electrical and structural counterparts to ensure fully coordinated MEP solutions within BIM/Revit environments.\nAct as the technical authority for the mechanical discipline, conducting design reviews and approving technical outputs.\nProvide strategic leadership on project planning, resource allocation, and quality assurance across multiple concurrent projects.\nSupport business growth by contributing to bids, proposals, and client presentations, ensuring designs align with commercial objectives.\nMentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nStay abreast of industry trends, sustainability initiatives, and digital design advancements to keep the company at the forefront of innovation. \n\nExperience\n\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.\nExperience leading mechanical design teams within the building services or data centre sector.\nProven technical expertise in mechanical systems design for mission-critical or large commercial projects.\nStrong working knowledge of BIM/Revit and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.\nExcellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
