MEP Pre-Construction Manager

We’re working with a well respected main contractor with a turnover of circa £500m and a strong presence delivering across the commercial, industrial, pharma and data centre sectors who are looking to engage with a pre-con focused MEP manager to join their southern business unit. Based in their head office in Hertfordshire, you will join a talented team working with all relevant stakeholders to co-ordinate and manage technical front end pre-con activities.\n\nThis is a business that genuinely values pre construction. They invest heavily in getting projects right from the outset and see MEP as a critical part of that process, driving communication and collaberation between the pre-con and on-site delivery teams.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Pre Construction Manager (MEP), you’ll play a key role in the early stages of project development, working closely with clients, consultants and internal teams to shape and deliver technically strong, commercially viable schemes.\n\nYou’ll be involved from initial bid stages through to handover to delivery teams, ensuring that MEP design, cost and programme are aligned.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n• Leading MEP input through the pre construction phase\n• Managing design coordination with consultants and subcontractors\n• Supporting bids, tenders and technical submissions\n• Reviewing and challenging design solutions to ensure buildability and efficiency\n• Working closely with commercial teams on cost planning and procurement strategy\n• Engaging with clients and stakeholders throughout the pre construction process\n\nWhat They’re Looking For\n• Strong MEP background within a main contractor or specialist subcontractor\n• Experience in pre construction, design management or estimating\n• Good technical understanding across mechanical and electrical packages\n• Comfortable working in a client facing environment\n• Ability to influence design, cost and programme at early stages
