MEP Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Salter Grange is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading international company that excels in consultancy. The position is for a Data Centre project in the Netherlands for a blue-chip client.

A European passport is required for this role

The ideal Quantity Surveyor would have a track record of delivering large commercial packages and work experience with reputable contractors.

Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

  • Provide cost planning and estimating services during feasibility and design stages.
  • Prepare and manage tender documentation, bills of quantities, and procurement strategies.
  • Lead tender evaluation, negotiation, and contract award processes.
  • Administer contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC, or equivalent), including valuations, variations, and claims management.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, cash flow, and budget performance.
  • Conduct risk and value management exercises, advising on mitigation strategies.
  • Support change management processes, ensuring accurate and timely assessment of variations.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Produce monthly commercial reports and client updates.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sustainability standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
  • Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) desirable
  • 5+ years’ experience in cost management, ideally within consultancy.
  • Proven experience on mission-critical projects (data centers, industrial, or high-tech facilities ).
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
