Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Facility Solutions Manager (FSM) provides technical solutions leadership and management for the delivery and implementation of facility management processes and solutions. This role focuses on overseeing MEPF and building controls trade partners, managing commissioning services, and ensuring project readiness across multiple large-scale construction projects.
Core Responsibilities

Manage MEPF trade partners through plan development, inspections, and commissioning testing

Lead Commissioning Management (CxM) services on multiple projects

Develop project-specific commissioning and execution plans per Hensel Phelps’ templates

Maintain commissioning schedules based on CPM milestones

Establish equipment testing and certification requirements and manage documentation through Cx software

Oversee Cx progress tracking tools and reporting

Lead project Cx team meetings and communicate schedules, sequencing, and issues

Document MEPF inspections and testing, ensuring issue resolution for start-up and commissioning

Manage Level 4/5 Cx testing

Review contract documents for constructability, operability, and functionality requirements

Coordinate with construction teams to drive Operational Project Readiness (OPR) activities
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience with an MEPF/building controls contractor, general contractor, and/or Cx agency
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Facilities Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Management, Engineering, or MEP Construction Management
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a mobile work environment
- P6 and/or MS Project experience
- Strong working knowledge of facilities operations and building systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint) and Adobe Cloud
- Ability to troubleshoot, document, and optimize facilities processes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret financial data related to facilities
- Understanding of critical facility environments including hospitals, airports, and data centers
Physical Work Classification & Demands
- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly
- Frequent walking, climbing, stooping, reaching, and grasping on jobsites
- Ability to operate vehicles and work in varying environmental conditions including temperature extremes and noisy environments
