Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Mechanical/Electrical Superintendent to oversee and coordinate complex construction projects within the pipeline and heavy civil sectors for a direct hire position. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and proficiency with construction management software. This role involves managing project schedules, supervising field teams, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations. The Superintendent will play a critical role in delivering projects on time, within scope, and to client specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise construction activities related to mechanical and electrical systems on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schematics.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams of electricians, engineers, subcontractors, and technical specialists
  • Incorporate industry-specific requirements including -Data Centers: UPS systems, PDU layout, switchgear, redundancy, (N+1, 2N), grounding, critical-load distribution.
  • Oversee subcontractors and field personnel, providing guidance on safety protocols, quality standards, and work execution.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation of systems.
  • Update schedules and progress tracking in project management software (ComputerEase or similar)
  • Manage project budgets, track progress, and report on key performance indicators regularly.
  • Resolve escalations, RFIs, and permitting questions
  • Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment, including managing contracts and change orders.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to verify work meets specifications and safety standards.
  • Utilize tools such as Ohmmeters for electrical testing and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  • Prepare documentation for project progress, safety reports, and closeout procedures.

Qualifications

  • at least 10 years experience.
  • Proven experience in construction management with a focus on pipeline or commercial projects.
  • Supervising experience in a construction setting with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, ProCore, and other construction management software.
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, construction estimating, budgeting, and project scheduling.
  • Familiarity with contracts administration and construction site safety protocols including OSHA standards.
  • Ability to read technical schematics and use testing tools such as Ohmmeters effectively.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and subcontractors simultaneously.
  • Construction site experience with an emphasis on quality control and adherence to safety regulations.
