Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer\n\nLocation: Sheffield Utilita Arena\n Department: Technical Services / Facilities Management\n Reports To: Technical Services Manager\n\nRole Summary:\n\nThe Multi-Skilled Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and reliability of critical environments, including data centres, call centres, and trading floors. This includes responding to maintenance requests, diagnosing and repairing power systems, and providing emergency support while maintaining adherence to SLA requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nReact promptly to breakdown and maintenance requests within required SLA timelines.\nPerform repairs on modular UPS systems and other critical power infrastructure.\nTest, monitor, and diagnose power quality issues, including harmonic distortion, using on-site analyzers.\nMaintain operational awareness of computer room, call centre, and trading floor infrastructure, including power, UPS, CPS, distribution, and cooling systems.\nApply a risk-focused approach to maintenance and operations of critical plant and systems.\nProvide emergency response standby and call-out services as required.\nEscalate urgent technical issues to the Technical Services Manager.\nRespond to work interruptions, outages, or emergencies consistent with SLA requirements.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date engineering maintenance documentation and records.\nAdvise the Facilities Management team on changes or improvements to critical environment requirements.\nConduct site surveys and produce work reports, recommendations, and assessments.\nBe flexible to work beyond standard contractual hours when necessary.\n\nKey Skills & Competencies:\n\nTechnical Skills:\n\nMaintenance and repair of UPS, CPS, and power distribution systems\nElectrical systems knowledge and power quality diagnostics\nCooling, HVAC, and critical environment systems familiarity\nAbility to use power analyzers and diagnostic tools\nExperience in data centre and high-availability infrastructureOperational Skills:\n\nRisk-based maintenance planning\nEmergency response and outage management\nTroubleshooting technical issues quickly and effectively\nAccurate maintenance record-keeping and reportingSoft Skills:\n\nStrong problem-solving and analytical thinking\nEffective communication and escalation of technical issues\nTeamwork and coordination with Facilities Management\nFlexibility and adaptability to changing operational needs\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\nRelevant technical or engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent)\nProven experience in critical environment maintenance (data centres, call centres, trading floors)\nExperience with UPS, CPS, and power quality systems is essential\nKnowledge of risk-focused maintenance practicesRG Setsquare is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
