Job Title: MySQL Database Administrator
Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH
Pay Range: $65/hr – $71/hr
Employment Type: 6 month contract to hire opportunity

About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced MySQL Database Administrator to join a dynamic infrastructure support team within a leading financial institution. This role is ideal for someone with deep MySQL expertise, strong automation skills, and a passion for optimizing database performance across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer MySQL databases (versions 8.0.x, 8.4.x; migrating to 8.0.42 and 8.4.5)
- Implement and manage InnoDB clustering across multiple data centers
- Troubleshoot performance issues and bottlenecks
- Review database design changes and stress testing results
- Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and cross-functional project groups
- Monitor, maintain, and back up databases
- Ensure database security compliance with internal policies
- Automate routine tasks and streamline database processes
- Mentor and support junior team members
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6+ years of MySQL database administration experience
- Expertise in MySQL storage engines and 8.x features
- Experience with automated failover solutions and TDE (Transparent Data Encryption)
- Familiarity with MySQL best practices and client-server communication (ODBC/JDBC)
- Proficiency in shell and SQL scripting for automation
- Experience with automated installation and patching ()

Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field
