Job Description: Network Architect \n\nThis is a detailed job description for a contract role as the UK Architecture Team Leader, fulfilling the function of a Network Architect within the UK Secure account supporting a Defence sector client.\n\n Role & Project Summary\n\nThe services are required on a Time and Materials basis for approximately 6 months, This role is essential to assist with peak load requirements.\n\nJob Title: UK Architecture Team Leader (Network Architect)\nLocation: 100% Remote\nClearance: Active SC Clearance is mandatory.\nIR35 Status: Inside IR35 (Off-payroll working rules apply).\nThe services constitute a labour supply under the Off Payroll Working Rules.\nProject Focus: Providing High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) services to support the Blake Account.\n\nKey Services and Role Responsibilities\n\nThe Contractor will carry out the following responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:\n\nArchitectural Design & Documentation:\nArchitect network solutions and technically lead their implementation.\nCreate Blueprint, High and Low Level Design (HLD's and LLD's) documentation for network solutions.\nGuide documentation through internal and customer approval processes.\nCreate hardware Bill of Materials (BOM) to meet solution requirements.\nTechnical Leadership & Delivery:\nTechnically lead network projects, ensuring that the customer's requirements are met.\nDeliver network architecture project tasks with skills in Switching, Routing, and Firewalls.\nWork closely with the wider architecture team to develop solutions.\nSupport & Mentoring:\nProvide assistance and support on architectural/technical issues to other team members.\nParticipate in providing mentoring support and guidance to team members to help grow skills and capabilities.\nPortfolio Knowledge & Consultancy:\nGain and maintain a working knowledge of the DXC Portfolio of network Products and Services.\nProvide 'soft' consultancy skills and a proactive approach to gain the absolute trust of our customers.\nContinually review and enhance existing knowledge of the network aspects of common product sets and technologies.\n\n Essential Experience and Qualifications\n\nBasic Qualifications & Requirements\n\nExperience Length: Nine or more years of experience in networks, including LAN, WAN, Remote Access, and Data Centre environments.\nFirewall Experience: Nine or more years of experience with mainstream Firewall platforms.\nCertification: Network specific certification from Cisco, Aruba, Juniper or similar at minimum CCNP level or equivalent.\nNG Firewalls: Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Checkpoint, preferably certified at CCSE or equivalent level.\nArchitecture Experience: Experience as Architecture/Design authority for large scale client projects.\nCloud Knowledge: Good Public/Private and Hybrid Cloud knowledge.\nA Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nHighly Advantageous Experience\n\nExperience in one of more of the following would be highly advantageous: Aruba Fabric Composer, VXLAN, NSX-T, AWS, MS Azure.\n\nSoft Skills & Other Qualifications\n\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of autonomy.\nProject management skills and skilled in time, priority and task management.\nLeadership ability to effectively lead a team.\nStrong communication and presentation skills to interact with customers and technical teamsRandstad Technologies is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
