Network Architecture Systems Engineer
Carahsoft seeks a Network Architecture Systems Engineer to join our team. This role is remote with possible travel on-site to our office in Reston, Virginia. This position will support Carahsoft VARs, partners, and customers in pre-sales activities in support of Cisco enterprise networking projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and recommend network architecture and infrastructure for the following Cisco solution areas:
- Enterprise campus and WAN
- Enterprise data centers
- SD-WAN
- Automation & observability
- Provide and recommend strategies for network implementation, migration, integration, and validation
- Build and explain detailed BOMs corresponding to recommended solutions
- Communicate and coordinate with Carahsoft VARs, partners, customers, and Cisco throughout the pre-sales and post-sales phases of design, implementation, and support
- May require travel (approx. 10%) for company meetings and events
Requirements:
- Credentials: Candidate possesses one or more of the following certifications:
- Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
- Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE)
- CCIE Routing & Switching
- CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure
- Successful completion of Implementing Cisco Enterprise Advanced Routing and Services (exam 300-410 ENARSI)
- Successful completion of Implementing Cisco SD-WAN Solutions (exam 300-415 ENSDWI)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Technical Expertise: Candidate possesses expert hands-on knowledge of the following technical content areas:
- Enterprise Routing and SD-WAN Architecture
- Advanced Routing Protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
- Data Center Switching, including VXLAN, EVPN, and spine-leaf designs
- Campus Networking
- SD-WAN architectures
- Network automation and orchestration solutions (e.g., Python, other scripting )
- Cisco solutions for all the above technical areas
- Design Capabilities: Ensure designs support operational requirements.
- Remote Support Capabilities: Ability to support partners and customers independently in a remote setting, effectively using VPNs and other secure access tools.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled in troubleshooting hardware, software, and configuration issues, with the ability to coordinate lab resources for testing and resolution.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to interact and collaborate with all project stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits
- Full-time exempt position
- Starting compensation range: $120,000 - $130,000 per year
