The Network & Computer Support Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of hardware, software, and general technology issues for users throughout the organization. The role also supports the Network Engineer with day‑to‑day network operations and assists with ongoing data‑center maintenance.
Software Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal customers seeking assistance with Turck‑approved software.
- Develop proficiency with all software tools used at Turck and establish troubleshooting protocols for common issues.
- Escalate complex or unusual issues to other IT team members, software vendors, or external consultants as appropriate, and apply learnings from escalations to resolve similar issues independently in the future.
Hardware Maintenance and Repair
- Provide front‑line support for desktop hardware, working directly with internal customers.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on hardware including workstations, memory, hard drives, network components, and cabling.
- Escalate hardware issues when necessary to IT team members, vendors, or consultants, and utilize lessons learned to enhance future troubleshooting.
Desktop System Setup and Configuration
- Configure and deploy desktop computers according to management direction.
- Install devices, accessories, operating systems, and software as needed.
- Reconfigure systems based on organizational or user needs.
Documentation
- Record and maintain accurate documentation of all service requests and resolutions.
- Collaborate with IT team members to ensure troubleshooting steps and resolutions are fully documented for future reference.
- Maintain up‑to‑date statistics regarding help‑desk activity and resolutions for review by the Director of Information Technology.
Data Center Support
- Work closely with the Systems Administrator and IT Client Services Manager to develop, deploy, and maintain Turck’s data center environment.
Customer Service
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
- Meet or exceed established standards for response and resolution times on help‑desk requests.
- Provide help‑desk coverage during designated hours and as directed by the IT Client Services Manager.
Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
