Job Title: Network/Data Center Technician – Rolling Upgrade Support

Location: West Chester Township, OH 4501
Duration: 2 months Contract 

Start date: 03/23 Monday

Job Summary

Field Technician required to support a rolling upgrade project in an enterprise data center environment. The role involves executing scheduled hardware upgrades, coordinating with remote engineering teams, and ensuring systems are restored with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform controlled shutdown and startup of servers as per upgrade schedule
• Install and configure network interface cards (NICs)
• Provide smart hands support during upgrade activities
• Coordinate with remote engineers for task execution and validation
• Power on systems and verify operational status post-upgrade
• Assist with re-adding hosts to distributed switches
• Monitor system health and report issues or delays promptly
• Follow standard operating procedures and change management protocols
• Work within enterprise data center layouts including rack/cabinet structures, hot/cold aisle containment, and structured cabling standards
• Identify and navigate server racks, patch panels, and network zones accurately
• Document all activities, updates, and completion status

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in enterprise data center environments
• Strong understanding of data center layouts (rack elevation, aisle containment, cable management)
• Hands-on experience with server hardware (rack/stack, component installation)
• Basic understanding of networking (switching, connectivity)
• Familiarity with VMware environments ()
• Ability to follow structured instructions and work with remote teams
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

• Basic hand tools for hardware installation
• Laptop for coordination, communication, and documentation (if required).
