SyMec helps deliver mission-critical technology and engineering solutions while protecting the systems that warfighters and security professional rely on every day.  We’re looking for a Network Engineer who wants their work to matter. 

As a Network Engineer, you'll design, deploy, and sustain enterprise and tactical networks across classified and unclassified environments. You'll work alongside cybersecurity, systems, and operations teams to keep networks available, performing well, and compliant with DoD security requirements.

The Role

• Design, configure, and maintain routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and data center environments
• Implement and manage routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, plus VLANs, QoS, and multicast
• Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and network access control solutions
• Deploy and manage Type 1 encryption devices (e.g., TACLANE, KG-series HAIPEs) for classified network connectivity
• Harden network devices in line with DISA STIGs and remediate vulnerability scan findings
• Support RMF and ATO activities by producing network diagrams, configuration baselines, and security documentation
• Monitor network performance and availability; troubleshoot outages and lead root cause analysis
• Plan and carry out network upgrades, migrations, and technology refreshes with minimal mission impact
• Support network integration for new systems and program deliveries, including lab and field testing
• Maintain accurate network documentation, including topology diagrams, IP address plans, and change records

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience (typically 4+ additional years)
• [3–5]+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise or DoD environments
• DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) compliant certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE) at time of hire
• CCNA or equivalent networking certification
• Strong command of Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/NX-OS configuration and troubleshooting
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching fundamentals, and network security principles
• Experience applying DISA STIGs to network devices
• U.S. citizenship (required for clearance)
