We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support and maintain a Cisco-based enterprise network environment for a local government organization. This is a 3–6 month contract with a January 2026 start target, offering a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 remote).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide day-to-day Cisco network support (switching/routing, troubleshooting, break/fix)
• Perform router and switch refreshes at remote sites (staging, cutovers, validation, cleanup)
• Support voice-related network tasks as needed (voice gateway changes, basic troubleshooting)
• Assist with onboarding and cleanup of LAN inventory in Cisco Catalyst Center (discovery, site setup)
• Support Cisco wireless point-to-point turn-ups
• Provide data center network support as needed
• Follow formal change management processes and document work (NetBox is used)

Required Qualifications

• 3–6 years of hands-on network engineering experience
• Strong Cisco Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking skills
• Comfortable being hands-on keyboard and working maintenance windows
• Ability to write clear documentation and provide concise status updates

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNAC)
• Voice / VoIP networking experience
• Exposure to multi-site or government environments
• CCNA, CCNP a plus

• Fortinet firewalls
