We’re hiring a Network Engineer to join a growing hosting services team supporting high-availability, international data centre environments.  This is a hands-on infrastructure role where you’ll take ownership of network performance, resilience, and security across multiple hosted platforms in a complex, SLA-driven environment.  This is engineering depth, not first-line support.

With new hosted contracts driving expansion, you’ll step into a role offering genuine technical scope, exposure to global infrastructure, and long-term project work rather than short-term firefighting.
 
The Role
As a Network Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and evolving mission-critical network infrastructure. I n this role, you will:

    \n
  • Provide expert-level support across data centre network environments
  • \n

  • Monitor, review, and report on network service levels, proactively addressing risks and negative trends
  • \n

  • Design and deploy robust routing, switching, firewall, and load-balancing solutions
  • \n

  • Implement and test disaster recovery and failover strategies
  • \n

  • Ensure 24x7 availability, capacity, and performance monitoring
  • \n

  • Maintain security compliance across all managed network components
  • \n

  • Produce and maintain clear documentation including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures
  • \n

  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, vendors, and hosting teams
    Identify and implement automation and service improvement initiatives
  • \n

This is a delivery-focused infrastructure role combining operational responsibility with ongoing improvement work.
 
Non-Negotiables

  • CCNP (Routing & Switching or Security)
  • \n

  • Strong Cisco data centre networking experience
  • \n

  • Hands-on experience with firewall rules, VPNs, routing protocols, and load balancing
  • \n

  • Experience operating within ITIL-driven 24x7 environments
  • \n

  • Strong troubleshooting capability across complex network estates
  • \n

  • Comfort working in security and compliance-heavy environments
  • \n
