THE POSITION
The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure. The engineer will provide operational and engineering support for enterprise LAN/WAN connectivity, remote access solutions, and network infrastructure. This includes maintaining Cisco networking equipment, supporting wired and wireless network services, and assisting with troubleshooting network performance and connectivity issues across the enterprise environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. LAN Infrastructure Operations

  • Implement, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise wired and wireless LAN infrastructure.
  • Support Cisco-based networking equipment including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points.
  • Maintain network availability, reliability, and performance across enterprise sites.
  • Monitor network performance and investigate connectivity issues affecting users and applications.

2. WAN and Network Connectivity

  • Support enterprise WAN connectivity across multiple facilities and data centers.
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues across routers, switches, and WAN circuits.
  • Assist with network configuration updates and infrastructure changes through established change management processes.

3. Remote Access Services

  • Support and maintain secure remote access solutions using Cisco VPN technologies.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco AnyConnect VPN services and associated firewall infrastructure.
  • Maintain secure connectivity for remote and telework users.
  • Investigate and resolve remote access connectivity issues.

4. Network Configuration and Change Management

  • Implement network configuration changes under established change management procedures.
  • Support network equipment upgrades, firmware updates, and configuration maintenance.
  • Assist in evaluating and deploying new networking technologies and solutions.

5. Troubleshooting and Incident Response

  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues affecting enterprise systems.
  • Utilize network diagnostic tools including packet capture and log analysis utilities.
  • Perform root cause analysis for network outages or performance degradation.
  • Coordinate with network security, applications, and monitoring teams during incident response.

6. Infrastructure Monitoring

  • Support monitoring platforms used to track network infrastructure health and performance.
  • Monitor critical metrics including:
  • Network availability
  • Iterface utilization
  • Device health
  • Performance indicators

7. Respond to monitoring alerts and investigate potential network issues.

Requirements:

  • Public Trust
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in network security engineering or a related field
