Network Engineer----Fresher

Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated fresh graduates / early‑career engineers who are interested in building a career in Enterprise Networking and Next‑ Network Technologies. The role focuses on supporting, learning, and gradually contributing to modern network environments including Routing & Switching, SD‑WAN, Data Center Networks, and Virtual Networking under the guidance of senior engineers.

Technical Key Skills (Entry‑Level Expectations)

Primary Skills

\n

    \n
  • Strong fundamentals in Networking concepts:
  • \n

  • TCP/IP, OSI Model
  • \n

  • Routing & Switching basics
  • \n

  • VLANs, NAT, DHCP, DNS
  • \n

  • Basic understanding or exposure to SD‑WAN concepts.
  • \n

  • Awareness of Data Center Networking (ACI / NSX at a conceptual level).
  • \n

  • Basic Wireless networking knowledge.
  • \n

\n

Secondary / Nice-to-Have Skills

\n

    \n
  • Exposure to any of the following through labs, training, or projects:
  • \n

  • Cisco ACI (basics / concepts)
  • \n

  • VMware NSX‑T (basic understanding)
  • \n

  • SD‑WAN (Viptela / Velocloud / Silverpeak – awareness level)
  • \n

  • F5 (LTM/GTM – conceptual exposure)
  • \n

  • Cloud networking fundamentals (Azure / AWS)
  • \n

  • Basic scripting exposure (Python / PowerShell / Bash is a plus).
  • \n

  • Willingness to learn Network Automation and NetOps tools.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Support day-to-day network operations under supervision as part of a larger delivery team.
  • \n

  • Perform initial troubleshooting and diagnostics of network-related incidents and escalate appropriately.
  • \n

  • Follow defined SOPs, runbooks, and operational processes.
  • \n

  • Assist senior engineers in:
  • \n

  • Network changes
  • \n

  • Migration and transformation activities
  • \n

  • Network documentation and diagrams
  • \n

  • Work closely with internal teams to understand recurring issues and participate in problem analysis.
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate documentation and update knowledge bases.
  • \n

  • Participate in on-the-job training, mentoring, and technical upskilling programs.
  • \n

  • Develop strong understanding of customer environments and service expectations.
  • \n

Qualifications & Experience

\n

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
  • \n

  • 0–2 years of experience (Freshers welcome).
  • \n

  • Networking certification such as CCNA () or willingness to pursue certifications.
  • \n

  • , academic projects, or lab exposure in networking is a plus.
  • \n

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to HCL policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to HCL policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off (PTO) per year (some positions are eligible for unlimited PTO); and 10 paid holidays per year.
