NOC Support Technician - Desktop and Data Center Support - Night Shift

Weekend night shift available. Friday, Saturday and Sunday night 9pm to 9am. Local candidates to Houston, Texas only.

Any below experience is a plus.

Technician will be expected to provide Tier I/II Level Support to remote-based clients in a 24/7/365 Network Operations Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Server Monitoring & Performance
    Continuously monitor Windows Server environments (2016–2025) for performance, availability, and stability across multiple client infrastructures.
  • Active Directory & Group Policy Administration
    Manage user accounts, security groups, and GPOs to enforce access controls and organizational policies.
  • Application Deployment & Maintenance
    Install, configure, and maintain client-server applications; provide ongoing support and updates as needed.
  • Third-Party Application Support
    Diagnose and resolve issues with various third-party software; liaise with vendor support teams for escalations.
  • Hardware & Software Troubleshooting
    Resolve endpoint, server, and peripheral issues with precision and urgency.
  • Protocol-Level Diagnostics
    Troubleshoot and support a wide range of protocols including SMTP, SNMP, SNTP, POP, FTP, SSL, SSH, HTTP/S, Telnet, SFTP, DNS, RDP, TCP, ICMP, and UDP.
  • Network & Port Awareness
    Maintain working knowledge of common applications and their associated ports and services.
  • Access & Permissions Management
    Administer NTFS and share permissions across Windows Server platforms to ensure secure and compliant access.
  • Linux Exposure
    Basic familiarity with Linux systems is a plus for cross-platform support.
  • Documentation & Ticketing
    Accurately log issues, resolutions, and client interactions in the ticketing system to maintain audit-ready records.
  • Email Systems Administration
    Perform basic administration of Microsoft Exchange (on-prem and Exchange Online), including mailbox provisioning and policy enforcement.
  • Virtualization Support
    Understand and support virtualized environments, including VM provisioning and resource allocation.
  • Remote Support Tools
    Provide remote assistance using tools such as LogMeIn, TeamViewer, and Citrix Remote Support.
