Operations Manager - Special Projects Division\n\nSt Neots (Hybrid)\n UK & European Travel Required\n\nSalary flexible depending on experience \n\nA fast-growing engineering and projects business is seeking an Operations Manager to lead delivery across its Special Projects division. The role covers complex projects within data centres and pharmaceutical environments, as well as wider European project delivery.\n\nThis is a key leadership position responsible for operational performance, project delivery, and team management across multiple high-value programmes.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead and support Project Managers and Engineers across live projects\nOversee full project delivery: cost, programme, quality, and safety\nManage budgets, forecasting, and cost-to-complete reporting\nApprove and track variations, applications for payment, and final accounts\nEnsure strong subcontractor and supplier performance\nDrive customer satisfaction and manage key stakeholder relationships\nEnsure compliance with ISO standards, CDM regulations, and H&S requirements\nSupport recruitment, development, and performance of delivery teams\nProduce project reports, forecasts, and performance updates\nDrive continuous improvement across processes and deliveryWhat We're Looking for:\n\nExperience in engineering, construction, or building services operations\nBackground in data centres or critical environments ()\nProven leadership of technical or project teams\nStrong commercial awareness (budgets, margins, forecasting)\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\nStrong organisational ability and attention to detail\nConfident with Microsoft Project and Office tools\nSolid understanding of Health & Safety and complianceBenefits:\n\n25 days holiday, rising to 27 with service\nHoliday buy/sell scheme\nPension up to 10% employer contribution\nAnnual bonus scheme\nPrivate healthcare\nDiscounted gym membership and wellbeing benefits\nCycle to work scheme\nEV salary sacrifice scheme\nEV charger loan scheme\nSmart Tech Scheme\nRetail, leisure, travel and lifestyle discounts
