Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 Annually

Job Summary:

As the Construction Manager I, II, III, you will ultimately be responsible for managing construction crews, coordinating field operations, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will oversee daily construction activities, manage project resources, and deliver high-quality construction services that meet customer expectations. As the Construction Manager I, II, III, your customers are project managers, field crews, clients, and internal operations teams, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through effective leadership, operational excellence, and quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Manage and coordinate the daily activities of assigned construction crews
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide coaching, and support the professional development of direct reports
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Administer corrective actions and prepare documentation related to employee performance and conduct
  • Train and mentor Foremen while providing oversight on assigned projects
  • Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, and resource allocation with Project Managers
  • Collaborate with customers on project planning, site coordination, and scheduling activities
  • Order materials and monitor inventory requirements for assigned projects
  • Coordinate with administrative staff on crew timesheets, job documentation, and project setup
  • Review and approve invoices and project-related documentation
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within established budgets
  • Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and overall project progress
  • Review and complete daily production reports, as-built documentation, mark-up maps, and project closeout packages
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing field personnel
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification

Experience

  • Proven experience managing construction crews while ensuring work is performed safely, accurately, and efficiently
  • Experience in aerial and underground telecommunications construction
  • Experience coordinating construction schedules, materials, budgets, and customer requirements
  • Experience supervising field personnel and managing multiple construction projects

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and project documentation
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word, along with scheduling software and HCSS HeavyBid or similar construction management software
  • Ability to perform budgeting, forecasting, statistical analysis, and project cost calculations
  • Ability to analyze contracts, RFPs, financial reports, operating manuals, safety regulations, and technical documentation
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees, management, regulatory agencies, and business partners
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound business decisions
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines

Qualifications:

  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure construction projects
  • Experience with HCSS HeavyBid or similar construction management software

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to maintain visual and audible awareness of crew members, equipment, and surrounding work environments
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and construction machinery
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, lift, twist, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods
  • Ability to stand, walk, or remain in physically demanding positions for extended periods
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and other required safety gear

Leveling: The distinction between Construction Manager I, II, and III is based on the individual's experience, skill level, complexity and number of projects managed, and span of responsibility.
