Role Description The OSP (Outside Plant) Field Design professional is a full-time, on-site role based in Las Vegas, NV. This role focuses on designing and documenting outside plant telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber routes, conduit systems, and related field elements. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting field walks and site surveys, verifying existing plant conditions, capturing accurate measurements, and updating design drawings and maps. The OSP Field Design professional collaborates with engineering and construction teams to ensure designs are buildable, compliant with standards, and aligned with project timelines. Additional tasks include preparing design packages, coordinating with local utilities and municipalities as needed, and maintaining detailed records to support permitting, construction, and as-built documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in OSP telecommunications or utility field design, including field surveys, route planning, and outside plant documentation.

\n

• Proficiency with design and mapping tools (e.g., CAD, GIS, or similar software) and ability to interpret construction drawings and utility maps.

\n

• Knowledge of industry standards, local codes, and permitting requirements related to fiber, conduit, and other communications infrastructure.

\n

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in measurements, record keeping, and verification of existing plant.

\n

• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, construction, and permitting stakeholders on-site.

\n

• Ability to work in the field in varying outdoor conditions, including walking proposed routes and performing physical site inspections.

\n

• Organizational skills to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate design and as-built documentation.

\n

• Relevant technical certification or associate/bachelor’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, construction management, or a related field .

• Previous experience in telecommunications construction or utility infrastructure and familiarity with safety practices is beneficial.
