Job DescriptionJob Description
**Location:** Memphis, TN (based out of our Memphis office)
**Travel:** ~70% during the summer peak season, lighter the rest of the year
**Reports to:** Head of Field Operations
We're looking for a Field Technician to be the person who keeps our deployed systems running. When a controller stops communicating, a sensor drifts or fails, or the dashboard flags something that doesn't look right, you're the one who diagnoses it and makes it right — often on-site, often on your own. You'll have our engineering team as backup for the genuinely tough problems, but the day-to-day reality of this role is being a self-starter who can land at a site, work the problem, and solve it without someone holding your hand through every step.
This is a hands-on, on-the-road role, especially in the summer when our systems are working hardest. If the idea of flying to a site, climbing onto a roof in the heat, plugging into a controller, and walking away knowing you fixed something sounds like a good day, we'd like to talk to you.
**What you'll do**
Most of your work centers on our control systems. You'll diagnose controllers that have stopped communicating, troubleshoot and replace sensors, and work through issues that range from the obvious to the genuinely puzzling. A big part of the job is sitting with our dashboard — reading the data, recognizing when something's off, figuring out the likely cause, and determining the right fix before you ever get on a plane. When you're on-site, you'll handle the light electrical work that comes with installing, swapping, and wiring components, and you'll be comfortable working outdoors and at height in real summer conditions.
You won't be doing this in a vacuum. Our engineering team is a phone call away for the hard stuff, and you'll lean on them when you need to. But the expectation is that you own the problem in front of you and bring solutions, not just questions.
**Ideal Candidate Profile**
You've spent a few years (roughly two to four) in a hands-on technical role — controls, building automation, instrumentation, industrial maintenance, or a strong HVAC/electrical background with real comfort around technology. You don't need to already know our specific systems; we'll teach you those. What we can't teach is the mindset.
The right person is genuinely comfortable with computers — not "can send an email," but the kind of person who will connect to a controller, pull up a log, and work through it without hesitation. You're a self-starter who'd rather figure something out than wait to be told. You're methodical when you troubleshoot, you communicate clearly when you need help, and you don't mind the travel or the heat that come with the busy season. You hold a valid driver's license, can pass a background check, and are ready to be on the road for a meaningful chunk of the summer.
Above all, you're the kind of person other people on the team trust to send to a site alone, knowing it'll get handled.
**Bonus if you have**
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS), PLCs, or similar control platforms
- A background in HVAC, refrigeration, or evaporative/adiabatic cooling
- Networking and IP troubleshooting know-how (diagnosing communication issues)
- Familiarity with reading electrical schematics and using diagnostic tools
- Any relevant certifications (EPA 608, electrical, OSHA, etc.) — though none are required to apply
Company DescriptionAbout Peak+
Peak+ manufactures the Peak+® System, a proprietary aftermarket HVAC retrofit that significantly improves the energy efficiency of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The company is based in Memphis, TN. The Peak+ System attaches non-invasively to virtually any air-cooled HVAC unit, and using the principle of evaporative cooling, improves efficiency, reduces peak demand, and lowers maintenance costs. Peak+ also provides a performance monitoring system, which enables real-time, cloud-based measurement and verification, controls, and fault detection and diagnostics.
Solving our Customers' Problems: More and more companies are dedicating time and resources to reducing energy consumption and are looking for cost-effective energy efficiency technologies. The Peak+ System is the perfect solution, creating energy savings and peak demand energy reduction. By spraying water onto a filter media on the outside of the condenser coils, the Peak+ System lowers the incoming air temperature, allowing the air conditioning or refrigeration system to operate as though it is cooler outside than it actually is. This media also filters dust from the condenser coils.
Target Market: The Peak+ System works with almost any air-cooled air conditioning or refrigeration system and is cost-effective in almost all commercial / industrial applications. Peak+ has hundreds of successful installations throughout the U.S. on data centers, hospitals, hotels, big-box refrigeration systems, and commercial / industrial buildings.Company DescriptionAbout Peak+\r\n\r\nPeak+ manufactures the Peak+® System, a proprietary aftermarket HVAC retrofit that significantly improves the energy efficiency of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
