PR Manager, Japan International Stores & Corporate Communications

Amazon is seeking a self-motivated, highly organised and creative communications professional to join the Amazon team in Japan. The individual will be based in Tokyo and will be part of the wider International Stores and Corporate Communications, developing and leading local Communications and PR campaigns in addition to influencer and owned social media channel campaigns.

The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in Communications and PR with a proven track record of planning and delivering creative digital campaigns; a strong understanding of the current social media landscape; best-in-class local media contacts; experience of delivering successful influencer campaigns, utilising both organic and paid routes; and experience of delivering measurable results in both key brand and commercial metrics. They should be a multi-tasker, highly-organized, creative thinker, goal-oriented, adaptable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up culture.

Key job responsibilities
* Media and key opinion leaders (KOLs) relations: Lead day-to-day contact and relationship building with key reporters for the business area, in order to promote Amazon’s reputation in Japan. The individual will work to generate impactful coverage, influence reporting and will be responsible to drive story ideation to media placement. The individual will also develop and maintain relationships with KOLs including social media influencers and other media personalities.
* Content : Write press releases, talking points, briefing documents, case studies, and other collateral for the media that advance Amazon strategic priorities in Japan. The individual will also create, and deliver social media focused content and campaigns in Japan.
* Strategy development: Develop and implement PR / influencer / digital comms strategies, briefs and plans in line with PR priorities and campaigns. The individual will also utilise media coverage, industry and customer insights to inform strategies and best practices.
* Managing internal and external relationships: The individual will establish strong working relationships and collaborate closely with internal stakeholder teams – both locally and globally - as a key stakeholder to business team providing PR counsel as necessary, including collaboration with marketing, public policy and other PR peers. The individual will also manage external PR and content development agencies.
