Position Overview:

The Pre-Sales Engineer is key technical resource responsible for designing and supporting solutions across Razor’s Infrastructure and Cloud portfolio. This role focuses on systems and architectures that include virtualization platforms, Razor Cloud services (IaaS, DRaaS, BaaS), multi-cloud environments, enterprise networking, network security, and server architectures.

Working closely with Account Executives, customers, and the engineering team, this position bridges business objectives with secure, scalable, and cost-effective technical designs. The role participates throughout the sales cycle — from discovery and solution architecture to proposal support, customer presentations, and project handoff — ensuring solutions are technically sound and aligned with customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Solution Design

· Collaborate with Account Executives to understand customer business drivers, technical requirements, and challenges.

· Lead technical discovery sessions to assess existing infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement or modernization.

· Architect solutions in the following key areas:

o Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, etc.)

o Razor Cloud services: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Backup as a Service (BaaS)

o Multi-cloud solutions integrating Azure, AWS, and other providers

o Enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless)

o Network security (firewalls, segmentation, VPN, Zero Trust)

o Server architectures (on-premises, hybrid, and converged/hyperconverged solutions)

· Create detailed solution diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and scopes of work (SOWs).

· Validate solution designs with vendors and align with industry best practices.

· Participate in customer-facing presentations, workshops, and technical Q&A sessions.

 

Collaboration & Project Handoff

· Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure smooth project transitions from pre-sales to delivery.

· Support Project Managers with technical insights during planning and execution.

· Engage with third-party installation/support partners when required.

 

Technical Expertise & Continuous Improvement

· Maintain deep technical knowledge across infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud solution areas.

· Stay current with emerging technologies, product updates, and industry trends.

· Provide feedback to leadership on solution gaps, market demand, and product roadmap opportunities.

 

Customer & Business Engagement

· Develop trusted advisor relationships with customer IT and business leadership.

· Support sales strategy development to expand customer adoption of Razor infrastructure and cloud solutions.

· Assist in partner and vendor engagement to strengthen solution delivery and support.

Qualifications

· 5+ years in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or senior engineering role focused on infrastructure and cloud solutions.

· Proven expertise in virtualization, cloud services, networking, network security, and server architectures.

· Experience with multi-cloud integration, DRaaS, BaaS, and hybrid infrastructure deployments.

· Strong understanding of data center networking, security frameworks, and compliance requirements.

· Excellent technical presentation, proposal writing, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

· certifications: Nutanix, VMWare, Microsoft Azure, Veeam, Cisco, Fortinet, or equivalent.
