We are seeking experienced Data Center Design Controls Engineers to support the design and delivery of Greenfield data center control systems across an entire US data center portfolio. This role focuses on BMS, EPMS, and SCADA platforms, ensuring consistency, scalability, and performance across mission-critical facilities.
Remote + 50-75% Domestic Site Travel required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of DCIM standards, controls logic, and integration models.
- Oversee consultants, vendors, and partners to ensure quality and alignment with project goals.
- Develop and refine Basis of Design, sequences of operation, and instrumentation documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning, and digital twin/simulation initiatives to validate performance.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and construction teams to align system design.
Qualifications
- 3-10+ years of data center controls design experience (Greenfield strongly )
- Experience designing BAS/BMS, EPMS, HVAC, and SCADA control systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Automation, or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider), BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, TCP/IP
- Strong understanding of psychrometrics data charts and chiller staging strategies
- Strong understanding of design documentation, alarm hierarchy, and integration standards
- Willingness to Travel: 50–75% on average (some weeks 0%, others 75%) — you control the cadence
- Experience with Aveva System Platform, Ignition, or digital twin solutions
- Strong documentation, vendor coordination, and cross-functional leadership skills
