Principal Electrical Engineer / Manager – Data Centres

London, UK | Permanent | Hybrid Working (3 days office / 2 days home) | Highly Competitive Package

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer / Manager to join a leading consultancy delivering major Data Centre projects across London and Europe. This is a senior role with the opportunity to lead complex mission-critical facilities and mentor a talented engineering team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading electrical design and delivery for large-scale data centre projects
  • Managing and mentoring teams of 3–10 engineers (local and international)
  • Overseeing projects from concept through to construction and commissioning
  • Driving quality and best practice in mission-critical electrical systems
  • Engaging directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Providing technical expertise in LV/HV systems, UPS, generators, and resilience strategies

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent vocational training with experience)
  • 6–15 years’ experience in building services electrical engineering
  • Proven mission-critical design experience (data centres, clean tech, telecoms)
  • Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent professional registration)
  • Strong technical expertise in HV/MV and LV systems, UPS, AC/DC, and switchgear
  • Proficiency with tools such as Revit, Autocad, Amtech, Dialux, SKM, ETAP, or Easypower
  • Strong communication skills with ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing deadlines, budgets, and risk
  • Passion for mentoring and supporting team growth
