Principal Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical

Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership on major data centre and mission-critical projects across the UK and international markets.This is a senior role for an engineer with strong consultancy experience who can lead electrical design delivery, manage technical teams and engage confidently with clients and project stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical design delivery from concept through detailed design, construction and commissioning.Provide technical leadership across major data centre and mission-critical projects.Review and approve calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.Develop resilient electrical solutions including N+1, 2N and concurrent maintainability strategies.Lead design of MV/LV distribution, UPS, standby , switchgear and associated systems.Coordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural and specialist disciplines.Attend client meetings, technical workshops and design reviews.Support construction-stage queries, site inspections and commissioning activities.Mentor and develop engineers across the electrical team.Provide technical input into bids, proposals and project planning.Experience & Qualifications8 years + relevant electrical engineering consultancy experience.Proven experience delivering data centre or mission-critical projects .Strong knowledge of LV/MV systems, UPS, generators, switchgear and resilient power infrastructure.Experience with Tier III/IV data centre environments.Strong understanding of BS 7671, UK Building Regulations, IEC, EN 50600, NFPA and Uptime Institute principles .Knowledge of DNO connections and G98/G99/G100 requirements.Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.Chartered Engineer (IET) or equivalent .Strong client-facing, leadership and communication skills.Good commercial awareness and experience working within multidisciplinary consultancy environments.The OpportunityJoin a high-performing engineering environment where you will have the opportunity to lead technically complex projects, develop engineering teams and play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure across the UK and internationally.TPBN1_UKTJ
