Job Description:
The Principal Mechanical Engineer is a mid-to-senior level position at Three Phase. Our projects typically involve the development of solutions using a variety of automation technologies and platforms. These technologies are deployed for the control of automated industrial process in data centers, water/wastewater, central plants, power plants, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, and chemical processing. You will be reviewing various HVAC system types, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire protection systems. Additional responsibilities utilizing calculation software including Ceasar II and Pipe Flo, performing construction administration and field investigation tasks for projects, field inspections, developing system narratives, equipment selection, and other related design tasks. Our ideal Engineer will have strong experience with Data centers and large industrial manufacturing plants and will hold a P.E. license.
Job Location:
The Mechanical Design Engineer position should be based out of an office in either the Dallas/Fort Worth area or Austin, TX.
Background and Work Experience:
Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas is required
B.S. degree in Engineering or related discipline
5+ years Mechanical design, experience in large industrial and data centers is
5+ years with AutoCAD is required
Experience with Revit, Caesar II, Pipe Flo and Navisworks
Field supervision experience for mechanical and controls installations
Self-starter that exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness
Coordination of project designs with other disciplines to determine equipment requirements
Highly proficient with computer technologies including but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, and the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
Willingness and ability to adapt to different work environments and changing circumstances
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare drawings showing details and method of assembly
- Field supervision experience for mechanical and controls installations
- Maintain Revit and Navisworks models when needed
- Ensure work quality standards are met and maintained
- Verify that codes, standards, and regulations are followed when designing and installing mechanical systems
- Provide/maintain engineering support for existing company installed systems
- Writing documentation, including project engineering notes, SOOs, MOPs, user manuals, FAT & commissioning documentation, and instructions
- Work with sales to provide input during quote preparation
- Personal drive to learn new technologies and build your technical background
Travel Requirements:
Typical travel for this position is ~ 20-30% within the United States. Travel will be required for site visits, consulting services and during installation.
