Position Summary: Join our dynamic team dedicated to managing the mechanical category within data-centre equipment. We focus on developing suppliers, defining strategy, setting pricing, and allocating equipment for data-centre builds.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with suppliers on new data-center designs, finalize design requirements, and establish pricing for upcoming builds.
- Review and potentially optimize suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, and other relevant factors.
- Approve purchases of high-quality merchandise at the best possible price and in correct amounts.
- Approve purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
- Guide staff on resolving issues related to undelivered goods and on methods of negotiation and contract administration with suppliers and vendors.
- Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine the need for changes.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other technical data.
- The ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing.
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Proficiency with computer applications, such as Word and Excel.
- 1-2 years of experience in procurement category management.
- Experience with software suite applications.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Leading cross-functional engagement across multiple stakeholder groups (e.g., engineering, legal, finance, planning).
- Influencing stakeholders and driving alignment, especially when priorities conflict.
- Operating effectively under pressure with aggressive timelines and frequent changes.
- Proactively leading meetings to align decisions, actions, and owners.
- Hands-on experience managing and executing contracts, including navigating issues after contracts are signed/executed.

- Strong cross-functional leadership experience and comfort influencing senior stakeholders.
- A proven ability to lead working sessions and decision-making forums.
- Experience managing sourcing and execution in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Practical contract management experience, including issue resolution and collaboration with legal teams.
