Procurement Specialist
Duration - 6 months contract with possible perm conversion
50% office attendance per month - London
£300–£335 per day + holiday pay (DOE)
A leading global financial institution is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join their Corporate Procurement team. In this role, you will support the sourcing of products and services across multiple categories, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and efficient purchasing for the organisation.
What you’ll do
- Work closely with the Senior Procurement Specialist to ensure smooth and secure supply for internal teams in the London region.
- Build strong partnerships with internal customers and position procurement as a trusted advisor.
- Align all activities with the organisation’s strategic objectives, internal guidelines, and procurement standards.
- Manage end-to-end sourcing projects with medium complexity and medium purchasing volumes across all categories.
- Support the development of product/category strategies, pricing models, and negotiation approaches.
- Negotiate and manage local contracts, ensuring teams receive the right products and services to meet their business needs.
- Collaborate closely with central procurement teams and near-shore support locations.
What you’ll bring
- Min 5 to 10 years’ experience in Purchasing, Sales, IT, Accountancy, Logistics, or similar functions
- Handle IT procurement: software, hardware, data centres, network services
- Experience in large/global financial corporate environments.
- Strong understanding of sourcing techniques and procure-to-pay processes.
- Familiarity with sourcing/procurement systems and tools.
- Good negotiation skills and basic contract law knowledge.
- Solid commercial awareness and good project management capability.
- Degree, MCIPS, or equivalent qualification .
