We currently have an opening for a Product Engineer in our Gowanda RCD facility, located in Manchester, NH. This position is critical to the success of Gowanda RCD, LLC and will be supporting the engineering department and reporting directly to the General Manager. The ideal candidate for this position should be experienced in electronic components, collaborative, informative, passionate, and motivated.

Details of the Role: The position of Product Engineer will be responsible for the planning, designing, developing, engineering designs as well as implementing a bridge between electrical engineering, sales, and our customers which span across aerospace, defense, medical and industrial industries in the electronics components field. During the course of a standard workday, you will be expected to offer technical support, identifying new opportunities, and driving design-in wins to our sales team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Support sales team with technical presentations, product recommendations, and application analysis.
  • Work directly with OEMs and Tier 1 customers to understand application requirements and propose optimal resistor solutions.
  • Support new product development and product improvement efforts of existing products.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through technical consultation and value-based selling.
  • Translate customer requirements into engineering documentation and coordinate with design and manufacturing teams for custom solutions.
  • Attend customer visits, trade shows, and industry events to promote products and gather market intelligence.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of resistor technologies including thin-film, wire wound, power resistors, and custom assemblies.
  • Assist in the development of technical marketing collateral such as datasheets, application notes, and white papers.
  • Monitor market trends and customer feedback to inform product development and innovation.

Qualifying Attributes and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in the resistor or passive component industry.
  • Proven track record in technical sales, applications engineering, or field engineering roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of resistor technologies, standards, and applications across key industries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.
  • Prior experience with precision, high-power, or custom resistor solutions.
  • Familiarity with common customer qualification processes in automotive, aerospace, or medical industries.
  • Experience using CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP) .
  • Background in design-in sales strategy and OEM/Tier 1 support preffered.
  • Prior experience with defense and aerospace customers.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, trade shows, and company facilities as needed (35–45%).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 15 pounds without trouble.
  • Must have the ability to adjust focus, have peripheral vision, and capable of adequately seeing both short and long-distance visibility.
  • Must have the ability to work with intricate tools, using motor skills function of hands and arms.
