ABOUT THE ROLE

Data One Construction is seeking an experienced Project Controls Project Manager with construction industry expertise to manage schedule, budget, and performance tracking on our mission-critical data center construction projects.

In this role, you will be the project "control center"—managing construction schedules, tracking RFIs and submittals, coordinating with engineering teams, monitoring budgets, and providing critical performance insights to leadership. You will work directly with project managers, field teams, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.

This is a strategic position for someone who understands construction workflows, has hands-on experience with construction management software, and excels at data analysis and clear communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Construction Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent; track progress against baseline; identify delays and forecast impacts
  • RFI & Submittal Tracking: Manage Request for Information (RFI) logs and submittal tracking; monitor approval timelines; identify bottlenecks affecting schedule
  • Engineering Coordination: Track engineering deliverables and coordination; manage engineering changes and impacts; communicate with design and engineering teams
  • Budget & Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and construction costs; identify variances; forecast final project costs; track change orders and cost impacts
  • Performance Reporting: Create weekly/monthly construction progress reports; track schedule adherence, RFI status, submittal approvals, and budget performance
  • Procore Management: Manage Procore or similar construction management software; track daily reports, photos, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Earned Value Management: Track project performance using EVM methodology; analyze schedule and cost performance
  • Stakeholder Communication: Report project status to leadership, project managers, and clients; identify risks and escalate issues

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of project controls experience on construction projects (commercial, industrial, or data center)
  • Expert proficiency with construction project scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with Procore or similar construction management software (RFIs, submittals, daily reporting, documentation)
  • Understanding of construction workflows, RFI/submittal processes, and engineering coordination
  • Experience tracking construction schedules, budgets, and performance metrics
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, forecasting, data analysis)
  • Experience with change order management and cost tracking
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent construction PM experience)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Data center or mission-critical facility construction experience
  • Experience with construction bidding and estimating
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) certification or experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with multiple concurrent large-scale construction projects
  • Knowledge of construction codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with construction cost engineering
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling)
  • Experience coordinating with A/E teams on complex projects

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 (based on experience)
