My client, a global construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Director to join its growing Data Centre Construction Managment team. With a market-leading client base and the opportunity to lead strategic commissions and high-profile programmes, this is an exciting moment to shape major project delivery and progress your career within a high-performing business unit.

This is a client-facing role within a professional and ambitious team where you’ll receive strong support and access to some of the industry’s brightest minds. You’ll be working on a hyperscale project valued at over £1 billion, helping clients achieve their programme and project management objectives.

Responsibilities

As a Project Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing large-scale, complex data centre projects across the full lifecycle—from feasibility and design through to construction and completion
  • Developing and implementing project strategies, delivery plans, and substantial budgets for major construction programmes
  • Establishing and maintaining robust project processes and systems
  • Monitoring and reporting on progress, performance indicators, risks and issues
  • Preparing and delivering clear written project updates and formal reports
  • Managing and coordinating clients, contractors, and design teams
  • Chairing and attending key meetings, producing minutes, and managing actions

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-quality presentation materials for client pitches and briefings
  • Managing and updating internal project information and systems
  • Providing thought leadership on trends, innovation, and best practice within the data centre sector

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience
  • Relevant qualification in project management or construction management
  • Chartered status (e.g., RICS, CIOB) desirable but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of the construction industry and data centre sector
  • Solid understanding of project lifecycles and business case approval processes
  • Proven track record delivering hyperscale data centre projects from inception to completion

Experience We’re Looking For

  • Deep experience in large-scale data centre projects within the real estate sector
  • Experience in masterplanning, strategic estate development, or capital project planning (desirable)
  • Demonstrable success in client-facing leadership roles at all levels
