Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-performance cooling solutions serving global energy, manufacturing, and data center markets. Known for engineering excellence, reliability, and custom design capabilities, they are experiencing strong growth driven by demand in critical infrastructure sectors, particularly the expansion of hyperscale and edge data centers.

They are looking for a Project Engineer to lead customer projects from initial handoff through final shipment. This role serves as the primary technical and commercial point of contact for customers while coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure projects are executed on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with all engineering and quality requirements.

The Project Engineer combines strong technical engineering knowledge with project execution and customer coordination responsibilities, supporting all phases of the project lifecycle from design review through manufacturing and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage assigned projects from Sales/Application Engineering handoff through final shipment and project closeout.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact throughout project execution, providing technical support, schedule updates, and issue resolution.
  • Review customer purchase orders, specifications, and technical requirements to ensure alignment with project scope, engineering standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams to communicate project requirements, code calculations, design criteria, compliance standards, and customer specifications.
  • Review and submit approval drawings and technical documentation to customers while ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Production, and Quality teams to establish schedules and execution plans.
  • Review manufacturing drawings and technical documentation prior to procurement and fabrication to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Track project progress, identify technical or scheduling risks, and proactively drive resolution through coordination with internal teams and customers.
  • Support manufacturing, testing, and final inspection activities to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate shipping documentation, customer deliverables, and final project requirements prior to shipment.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes, project execution, and customer experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering and project execution experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably involving custom engineered equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermal design principles, and industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Experience managing technical projects and coordinating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret and review technical drawings, engineering specifications, calculations, and customer documentation.
  • Proficiency with engineering software, ERP systems, and project management tools.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and compliance requirements related to industrial equipment manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with air-cooled heat exchangers or industrial cooling systems.
  • Experience working directly with fabrication, manufacturing, or production teams.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes, thermal performance requirements, or pressure equipment standards.
