About the Role
A leading mechanical contractor specializing in high-profile and technically complex projects is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Program Manager to oversee large-scale initiatives within the Data Center and Pharmaceutical sectors in Indiana.
This role focuses on managing major HVAC, sheet metal, and process piping scopes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of executing programs with a total value of $30 to $100 million, with 5-10 years of experience in construction (DOE, Nuclear, or government-regulated environments but not required).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all phases of large, complex mechanical projects — from initiation to closeout — ensuring delivery on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard tools; ensure milestones align with contractual and client expectations.
- Establish, track, and report project budgets, cost forecasts, and earned value performance.
- Oversee billing and invoicing processes, working closely with finance teams to ensure accuracy and timely client reconciliation.
- Implement and enforce change management protocols, evaluating and documenting all scope adjustments.
- Design and execute field strategies that drive productivity, enhance safety performance, and maintain quality standards.
- Coordinate efforts across engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, and safety disciplines to achieve program objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and execute corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and present detailed project status reports to senior leadership, federal agencies, and key stakeholders.
- Lead risk management activities, including identification, mitigation, and contingency planning.
- Drive a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence on every project.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 5-10 years of progressive project/program management experience within Construction (Data Center and Pharmaceutical).
- Demonstrated success managing projects with a total scope of $30 to $100 million.
- Proficiency in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and large-scale cost tracking.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- PMP or PgMP certification .
