Project Manager – Industrial Manufacturing (Data Center Projects)

About the Opportunity
We are a rapidly growing industrial manufacturing organization seeking a Project Manager to support large-scale, engineered-to-order equipment projects, with a strong emphasis on data center enclosure systems. This is a newly created position driven by significant growth and a rapidly expanding project backlog.
This role is highly visible within the organization and plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to customer expectations. What You’ll Do
- Manage industrial equipment and enclosure projects from sales handoff through installation, startup, and warranty closeout
- Partner with Sales to define scope of supply, develop estimates, and manage project budgets and schedules
- Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and service
- Coordinate internal and external design reviews and manage customer approval drawings
- Oversee release of engineering drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Track project financials including budgets, cost forecasts, and Estimate at Completion (EAC)
- Manage project changes using formal impact and change notice processes
- Support manufacturing by resolving design, production, and supply chain issues
- Drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
- Support customers during installation, startup, and warranty events
- Mentor and support project and design engineers assigned to your projects
- Travel domestically and internationally as required
What We’re Looking For (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
(Bachelor’s degree in Business with 8+ years of relevant experience will also be considered) - 3+ years of Project Management experience or 5–10+ years of Project Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing custom or engineered-to-order equipment projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
- Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources
- Working knowledge of financial concepts including cost estimates, EACs, ROI, and cost control
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including reviewing drawings and BOMs
- Experience coordinating cross-functional manufacturing teams
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting data center enclosure systems or similar large-scale engineered products
- Installation, startup, or commissioning experience
- Exposure to New Product Development (NPD)
- Vendor and supplier management experience
- Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project or similar)
- PMP certification (, not required)
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or project team members

Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 (based on experience)
