Position Overview

Quality “Plus” Service is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead mission‐critical data center construction projects in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role is responsible for managing all phases of electrical construction with a strong focus on safety, scheduling, cost control, and quality.

The ideal candidate has proven experience managing large‐scale electrical scopes in data centers or other mission‐critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Develop and manage schedules, manpower plans, and budgets
  • Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and vendors
  • Track costs, forecasting, change orders, and project profitability
  • Review drawings, contracts, and specifications to ensure scope alignment

Electrical & Data Center Scope

  • Oversee installation of:
    • Medium‐ and low‐voltage power distribution systems
    • Switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs, and generators
    • Busway, cable tray, grounding, and bonding systems
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and Iowa electrical codes
  • Support commissioning, testing, and system validation

Safety & Quality

  • Enforce Quality “Plus” Service safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Promote a zero‐incident safety culture
  • Conduct jobsite inspections and quality control reviews
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, as‐builts, and closeout documentation

Leadership

  • Lead project engineers, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors
  • Conduct progress meetings and report to company leadership
  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of electrical project management experience
  • Experience with data centers, mission‐critical, or industrial power projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems
  • Working knowledge of NEC and OSHA regulations
  • Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar tools
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on‐site in Cedar Rapids

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (Iowa or reciprocal)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience managing $10M+ electrical scopes
  • Data center commissioning experience
