Project Manager, Power

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the execution of gas-fired and hybrid infrastructure projects (including co-located energy storage and digital infrastructure such as data centers) from late-stage development through construction, commissioning, and commercial operation
  • Responsible for ensuring safe, on-schedule, and cost-effective execution of large-scale capital projects, in close coordination with Development, Engineering, Legal, and Operations teams
  • Project Execution & Leadership
  • Manage overall project execution from late-stage development through commercial operation.
  • Coordinate with internal Development teams on permitting and commercial requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal Engineering teams on design deliverables and technical requirements.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, execution plans, and risk registers.
  • Lead project delivery meetings and maintain project performance reporting.
  • Procurement & Contracting
  • Lead project-specific procurement for the execution of engineering, construction, and equipment supply contracts, including EPC, EPCM, and other delivery models.
  • Coordinate with legal to align commercial terms, contract exhibits, and risk allocation with project goals.
  • Manage RFP processes, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Administer contracts ensuring compliance, change management, and performance obligations.
  • Construction Management
  • Oversee construction activities including mobilization, coordination, safety, and schedule.
  • Resolve field issues with contractors and Engineering resources.
  • Ensure QA/QC, inspections, and documentation meet standards.
  • Commissioning & Startup
  • Lead commissioning planning, readiness, and testing.
  • Oversee system turnover and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Operations & Asset Management for plant transition.
  • Risk, Compliance & Safety
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and schedule risks.
  • Ensure compliance with permits, interconnection, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as primary execution contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Development, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams.
  • Provide leadership updates, variance analysis, and decision-support recommendations.
  • Serve as point of contact for lenders' engineers, regulatory agencies, and key commercial partners during execution.

Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Bring 10+ years of experience executing gas-fired and/or hybrid utility-scale energy infrastructure projects
  • Have a proven track record of leading projects from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through Commercial Operation Date (COD)
  • Offer hands-on experience across procurement, contracting, construction, commissioning, and startup activities
  • Have successfully managed EPC contractors and major OEMs
  • Possess a strong understanding of power plant systems and construction sequencing
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Ideally you also have

  • A Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or PMP certification
  • Experience with NERC requirements, permitting, and interconnection processes
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, project financing, and Independent Engineer (IE) reviews
