Project Manager / Superintendent – Data Center Fiber Construction

Position Overview:

We are seeking experienced Project Managers and Superintendents to support large-scale data center fiber infrastructure projects in Abilene, TX and Dallas, TX. These individuals will play a critical role in overseeing fiber construction operations, managing field teams, ensuring project execution, and driving successful project delivery from planning through completion.

Depending on experience, candidates may be considered for either a dedicated Project Manager role, a Superintendent role, or a hybrid position capable of performing both functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Manage data center fiber construction projects ranging from $5M to $20M in value.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and reporting.
  • Monitor project performance, productivity, and financial metrics.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, field leadership, and internal stakeholders.
  • Track project progress and proactively address risks, delays, and operational challenges.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Field Operations / Superintendent Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities for field teams that perform fiber installation, splicing, testing, and commissioning.
  • Manage and coordinate fiber technicians, subcontractors, and field crews.
  • Provide leadership across projects involving teams ranging from 20 to 200+ personnel.
  • Ensure quality standards, safety requirements, and client expectations are met.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and maintain project documentation and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing large-scale fiber optic construction projects, preferably within data center environments.
  • Strong understanding of fiber installation, splicing, testing, and outside plant construction practices.
  • Proven experience leading field teams and coordinating multiple crews simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work onsite five days per week from a project field office.
