Project Scheduler — Electrical Contractor

Company: Client of Brave New World Search Group

Location: Dallas, TX (office + DFW jobsites) • Full-time • Exempt

Compensation: $75,000–$100,000 base (DOE) + bonus eligibility + benefits

Company Overview

Confidential, growth-oriented electrical contractor delivering complex commercial, healthcare, mission-critical, industrial, and high-rise projects across North Texas. Field-first culture, tight schedules, and high standards.

Role Summary

Own the project schedule from precon through commissioning for electrical scopes. You’ll build baselines, drive logic and risk reviews, model impacts (TIAs), and keep operations, procurement, and commissioning aligned—so crews stay productive and turnovers hit on time.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan & build baselines: Develop WBS, calendars, activity coding, resource loading, and cost loading in Primavera P6 (MS Project as needed).
  • Electrical sequencing: Model long-lead gear → prefab → rough-in → feeders/cable tray → terminations → testing/commissioningenergization/shutdown windows.
  • Updates & reporting: Run weekly progress updates, 3-week look-aheads, S-curves, manpower histograms, and owner/GC narratives.
  • Risk & recovery: Perform Time Impact Analyses (TIA), fragnet modeling, near-critical path reviews, and recovery plans; support delay/claim documentation.
  • Procurement tie-in: Integrate submittals, fabrication, and delivery dates for switchgear, transformers, ATS, UPS, lighting controls, and specialty systems.
  • Coordination: Align with PM/PE/Superintendent, BIM/VDC, QA/QC, and trade partners; participate in pull-planning/Last Planner where used.
  • Commissioning readiness: Sequence pre-functional, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and turnover milestones.
  • Standards & governance: Maintain coding standards, templates, and schedule health (Acumen/Fuse or equivalent).

Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years in construction scheduling with at least 2+ years at an electrical contractor (MEP-heavy GC experience considered).
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (baselines, updates, resources, layouts, global change); MS Project a plus.
  • Proven experience with TIAs, fragnet inserts, recovery plans, and executive-level reporting.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction means & methods, long-lead procurement, testing/commissioning, and outage planning.
  • Tools: Procore, Bluebeam, Excel; Acumen Fuse/Risk or Asta Powerproject a plus.
  • Able to read one-lines, risers, device layouts; collaborate effectively with field teams and GC schedulers.
  • Degree in Construction Management/Engineering or equivalent field experience.

Nice to Have

  • Background on healthcare, data center, aviation, industrial, or high-rise projects.
  • Exposure to pull planning/Lean, BIM/VDC workflows, and prefabrication sequencing.

Benefits

Competitive compensation package with medical/dental/vision, 401(k), paid time off/holidays, and professional development.
