Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading contractor specialising in advanced manufacturing, data centres, food, logistics, and pharmaceuticals. As Project Sustainability Lead, you’ll play a key role in embedding environmental and social best practice across major construction projects. Acting as a sustainability expert, you’ll guide project teams through environmental compliance, low-carbon design, and certification processes such as BREEAM and LEED, helping to deliver projects that meet and exceed sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the sustainability agenda across assigned projects, providing strategic direction and expert guidance to ensure environmental compliance and ESG performance.
- Support project teams in achieving BREEAM, LEED, or equivalent certifications, ensuring documentation, evidence, and audit trails are robust and accurate.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess sustainability performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Prepare and maintain key environmental documentation, including Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) and Pollution Response Plans.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to integrate sustainability targets into project planning and delivery.
- Contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing to promote best practice and continuous improvement across the business.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Environmental, Sustainability, or related discipline.
- Experience providing sustainability support within the construction or built environment sector.
- Knowledge of BREEAM / LEED certification processes and sustainability reporting.
- Strong communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and sustainability data tools.
- Full UK driving licence (regular site travel required).
