Job Title: QA/QC Coordinator - Mechanical Systems Construction

Location: DFW Metroplex, TX (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $37.00 - $41.00 hourly

Role Overview

The QA/QC Coordinator is responsible for governing and driving quality processes across multiple projects, ensuring all mechanical systems: including piping, HVAC, and plumbing installations, meet design intent, code requirements, and client expectations.

This role bridges field execution and quality governance, supporting project teams while maintaining strict QA/QC standards across prefabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.

The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical construction or industrial QA/QC experience, deep understanding of piping systems and installation quality, and the ability to identify and resolve issues before they impact project delivery.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans and quality strategies
  • Oversee and standardize QA documentation, including inspection reports, test records, and turnover packages
  • Coordinate and schedule inspections, third-party testing, and site quality reviews
  • Support and audit field execution to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and VDC/BIM teams to resolve quality issues
  • Lead QA/QC coordination for commissioning, including collaboration with TAB and startup teams
  • Review mechanical fabrication, piping systems, and assemblies for compliance prior to installation
  • Track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and drive corrective actions to resolution
  • Communicate quality expectations and updates with internal teams, clients, and inspectors
  • Train project teams on QA/QC processes, standards, and best practices
  • Analyze quality trends and implement process improvements across projects

Required Background

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship as sponsorship is not available for this position
  • 5–10 years of QA/QC experience in mechanical construction, industrial, EPC, or related fields
  • Strong experience with piping systems, HVAC, and mechanical installations
  • Experience supporting or coordinating commissioning, startup, and testing activities
  • Experience with QA/QC processes for both prefabrication and field installation
  • Experience with construction QA/QC documentation tools such as BIM360, Bluebeam, Procore, CX Alloy, or similar
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Commercial mechanical subcontracting background (hospitals, data centers, high-rise buildings) strongly
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as SMACNA, ASME, or equivalent mechanical/piping codes
  • EPC, industrial, or international construction QA/QC experience will be considered
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent inspection certification a plus
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management system experience a plus
  • NDT certifications (ASNT Level II or equivalent) a plus
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and drug screening
